REIKI

Reiki is a complementary therapy that uses light touch or hand movements just above the body to promote relaxation and reduce stress. It supports the body’s natural healing capabilities. It's similar to practices like massage or meditation in that it aims to create a sense of calm and wellbeing. It can do no harm. While it doesn't require belief in any particular system, many people find it a helpful way to unwind and support their overall health.

I personally found the combination of Counselling, Reiki and implementing a routine of self-care rituals beneficial for my recovery with burnout.  I had a profound experience receiving Reiki that left me curious and intrigued about the practice of Reiki, and how good I felt post treatment.  This took me on the journey of engaging a Reiki Master to teach and initiate me into Dr Mikao Usui’s method of energy healing, so I could share this wellness experience with others.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • I ask you to complete an intake form and consent form.

  • I will ask you what you hope to achieve from your Reiki session (your intention)

  • I will discuss with you what to expect during Reiki.

  • You will have an opportunity to ask any questions.

  • I will ask you to lay down clothed, on a treatment table.

  • It is common to fall asleep when receiving Reiki.

  • A Reiki treatment typically lasts 45 minutes. 

  • A further 10 minutes will be provided for you to wake up, ground yourself, discuss your experience and after care, and have a glass of water before you leave.
